FAQS

Here are answers to some questions that regularly come up about parent coaching. Some are more specific or practical in nature, others are a bit more broad. I hope you find this helpful as you consider taking the next step with Equilibrium Parent Coaching.

  • DO WE MEET IN PERSON OR ONLINE?
All coaching sessions are offered in person, when possible, or through Zoom, at times that suit your schedule. In-person sessions can take place at your home, or at an alternate location such as a cafe or restaurant.
  • WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN SESSIONS?
You will receive a follow-up email after each session summarizing key points and amplifying next steps, and sharing any resources we have discussed in the session.
  • CAN I JUST DO A SINGLE SESSION?
I offer refresher or extension sessions to clients on a single-session basis after they have completed one of the two coaching packages.
  • HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET?
Ideally, coaching sessions happen on a weekly basis for you to see the most tangible and encouraging changes take hold. However, I do offer flexibility for clients to reschedule a session with minimum 24-hours notice, if needed.
  • WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT TERMS?
After signing our coaching agreement, I’ll provide you with login details for the client portal of the website. From there, you can complete the payment via PayPal based on the package we have agreed on. All packages must be paid for in advance prior to our sessions. Any rescheduling must happen with a minimum of 24-hours notice. Otherwise, the session will be charged.
  • IS PARENT COACHING THE SAME AS COUNSELING?
Coaching and counseling are different. Counseling is concerned with healing emotional wounds from past experiences in order to move forward with good mental health. Coaching is concerned with present challenges and setting intentions and action plans for future goals. Some clients receive both counseling support and parent coaching at the same time, and I will be sure to advise when a particular issue is outside the bounds of the coaching that I offer.
  • SHOULDN’T I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO PARENT?
Well, yes and no. At some point in our parenting, we all run into behaviors or situations with our children that we struggle to manage or understand. These can become entrenched and discouraging. We can continue to muddle through, or we can seek support and find new and better ways forward. As a parent coach, I come alongside you, the parent, as a thought partner, supporting your parenting equilibrium by clarifying your strengths, your values, and your ideals for your family. Together, we leverage this knowledge and understanding to construct thoughtful, personalized, and authentic strategies to resolve challenges and grow connections within your family.
  • I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS…
Feel free to get in touch directly and I would be happy to answer your questions over email, or set up a call to discuss your situation specifically. You can reach out here, and I’ll be in touch as soon as possible.
