ABOUT JESSICA

Image 20_edited.jpg

HELLO, I’M JESSICA.

I’m a parent coach, an Adult Third Culture Kid (ATCK), expatriate, and mother of two. I champion parents who, just like you, are looking for guidance and support to build positive and nurturing relationships with their children and rediscover the joy in their family dynamic.

Why? Because I feel so strongly that the connection we build with our children, and particularly how that is formed across the adolescent years, sets the foundation for our relationship with them long into the future.

I work primarily with parents of adolescents to empower you as you explore your approach to parenting and what is and isn’t working in your family. Together, we co-construct a framework for a steady confidence around the many parenting decisions you make in a given day.

But let’s go back a little…

As a Third Culture Kid, I was born and raised outside of my passport country of the United States. After graduating from Princeton University, I continued in this global context, raising two children (now both teens) over the past seventeen years, living around the world as a diplomat family.

I come to parent coaching from a background in youth development and non-profit programming and support, and previous work as a college admissions coach for high school students and families navigating the complex US college application process. I have served on the boards of international schools in the countries we’ve lived in, which has given me a strong understanding of the particular challenges and opportunities of educating children in international settings. I completed a rigorous, graduate-level parent coach certification process through the Parent Coach Institute and its Parent Coach Certification® Training Program and then founded Equilibrium Parent Coaching to support parents to form more positive and connected relationships with their teens.

My deepest desire is to see families connected and thriving, whatever the circumstances.  I’m here to guide and support your unique parenting style in a way you may not be able to access from friends or family. My hope is that you walk away from our time together feeling more confident and with a greater sense of ease in your relationship with your children.

HERE’S HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER

I primarily work with people one-on-one or with couples. After scheduling a discovery call to check that we are a good fit, and answer any questions you might have, we can work through five or ten sessions, completely tailored to you and your family needs.

I also run group sessions for parents who are in similar seasons and want to work together on shared parenting goals.

You can learn more about these sessions here.

I am also available for initiatives in the education setting and/or speaking engagements.

Please get in touch to explore any of these opportunities further.

Parenting is hard, but the key to building a loving home environment and a connected relationship with your children is realizing that you don't have to do it on your own

While I don’t offer quick fixes or generic “five/ten/twenty steps” to guarantee a happy home, I support you as you build a loving, nurturing, and connected relationship with your children that will also set the foundation for your relationship long into the future. This means exploring your values, your strengths, your areas for growth, and having a clearer idea of what you want your relationship to look like (and why), and working effectively towards that.
